IDENTIFY Identify families in need of our services through partnering organizations We closely partner with local social service agencies to identify families in the greater Oklahoma City metro area who are ready for our services. Partnering agencies submit referral applications for families they know quality for our program. Each family selected for the program is on their own personal journey to a better life situation and have a documented history of working toward their goals with the agencies who refer them. Each family accepted into our program has found permanent housing and is able to maintain that housing. INTERVIEW Interview family to understand their specific needs. Each family in our program is assigned their own personal Family Coordinator. The Family Coordinator meets with the family to assess their specific needs. CREATE Create a customized furniture/furnishings package using gently used donated items. The Family Coordinator is now able to create a furniture/furnishings package specifically for the needs of this family. The Focus on Home warehouse is stocked with the majority of all the items needed to fulfill the needs of the family. The items in the warehouse are gently used donations from the Oklahoma City community. In addition to the donated items, each family is allocated $500 that goes towards new items to fill gaps in our donations (like cribs and new pillows) – each family member also receives a brand new bed. MOVE-IN Set up a family’s home on their “Move-In Day” with a group of volunteers. It’s Move-In Day – the day it all comes together! Volunteers work with the Family Coordinator and the family to set up the new home.
