Hi, My name is Bella Delgado, and I am the owner and baker of Que Bella Bakery. I have always been passionate about food and had dreams of owning my own bakery. At fourteen I found out I was gluten intolerant. I thought the dream of baking full time was over. I began eating gluten-free and realized while many people are also gluten-free, there are not many gluten-free options out there. I went back to the kitchen, tested recipes, tested gluten-free flour, and began baking gluten-free treats. Finally, I had delicious gluten-free treats. Hi, I’m Tiffany! I grew up learning to bake in my grandma’s kitchen, where there was always a pan of cake on the counter. With nearly every trip through the kitchen, we’d stop, grab a fork, and get a taste. I grew up with my grandma, and she showed me the way around a kitchen. While I wouldn’t say I use her recipes, per se, I definitely use her processes. 2012: YUKON BAKERY OPENS. A few short years later, we had severely outgrown our home kitchen. We took the leap, and opened our first brick-and-mortar storefront called ButterSweet Cakes. Custom cakes were the primary focus, but we also sold our recipes in the form of cupcakes. As fate would have it, cupcakes exploded in popularity and eventually became the majority of the business. 2015: EDMOND BAKERY OPENS. With things in Yukon going so well, we decided to take another big leap and open a second cupcake bakery, this time on the west side of Edmond. We opened in July of 2015 with crowds waiting. 2018: COFFEE BAR OPENS. With such a strong cupcake following, we decided it was time to pair them with great coffee. Consider donating your gently used furniture to Focus on Home! We will even do the heavy lifting for you! IDENTIFY Identify families in need of our services through partnering organizations We closely partner with local social service agencies to identify families in the greater Oklahoma City metro area who are ready for our services. Partnering agencies submit referral applications for families they know quality for our program. Each family selected for the program is on their own personal journey to a better life situation and have a documented history of working toward their goals with the agencies who refer them. Each family accepted into our program has found permanent housing and is able to maintain that housing. INTERVIEW Interview family to understand their specific needs. Each family in our program is assigned their own personal Family Coordinator. The Family Coordinator meets with the family to assess their specific needs. CREATE Create a customized furniture/furnishings package using gently used donated items. The Family Coordinator is now able to create a furniture/furnishings package specifically for the needs of this family. The Focus on Home warehouse is stocked with the majority of all the items needed to fulfill the needs of the family. The items in the warehouse are gently used donations from the Oklahoma City community. In addition to the donated items, each family is allocated $500 that goes towards new items to fill gaps in our donations (like cribs and new pillows) – each family member also receives a brand new bed. MOVE-IN Set up a family’s home on their “Move-In Day” with a group of volunteers. It’s Move-In Day – the day it all comes together! Volunteers work with the Family Coordinator and the family to set up the new home. It’s an exciting, fun, emotional day – in a few hours our volunteers see how their time and energy completely transforms the life of an Oklahoma City family.
